Heilongjiang advancing tech-driven agriculture underpinned by innovation
Heilongjiang province is developing technology-driven agriculture underpinned by innovation, carrying out research into core agricultural technologies, advancing green agriculture, and raising the level of digitalization and smart technology, officials said.
The province in Northeast China has continued to strengthen its strategy of revitalizing agriculture through science and technology. It has established 40 collaborative innovation systems, vigorously developed smart agriculture, and built model demonstration areas for smart agriculture in Beidahuang, a massive agricultural region in northern Heilongjiang, and Jiamusi, a prefecture-level city in Heilongjiang, said Zhu Huasheng, deputy director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Heilongjiang province, at a media briefing held on Monday in Harbin, the capital of the province.
Zhu said Heilongjiang is working to increase its overall grain production capacity and further consolidate its role as a ballast for national food security.
