State Grid Ningxia optimizes data services for frontline staff
State Grid Ningxia Information and Telecommunication Branch has launched user-oriented data services to improve access to business data for frontline employees, the company said.
Previously, employees had to submit applications for multiple levels of approval or spend hours searching across separate systems to obtain business data. The process was time-consuming and labor-intensive, weighing on work efficiency.
To address the problem, the company has drawn on existing system resources to establish dedicated data spaces for six municipal branches across Ningxia. Once an employee logs in, the platform identifies the user and displays business data tags relevant to the employee's role and responsibilities.
The upgrade reduces manual searches, bulk data copying and repetitive data compilation. It also allows new employees to quickly learn how to search for and use data, lowering barriers to data access, the company said. At the same time, the new mechanism incorporates safeguards for data security.
Under the previous permission management model, data access was generally either fully open or completely restricted, making it difficult to accommodate differing operational needs. The upgraded system introduces tiered and category-based controls, granting access according to employees' positions and work requirements.
The more targeted approach helps prevent leaks and unauthorized sharing of sensitive data while ensuring employees can access the information needed for their daily work, the company said.
With fewer rigid access restrictions, frontline employees can make better use of data resources to develop new business models and improve workflows. The changes also address long-standing inefficiencies in data coordination between headquarters and frontline units, allowing data to play a greater role in improving grassroots operations.
The company described the initiative as a practical, people-centered step in digital governance.
