China Eastern partners with Kayak to expand AI travel services abroad

China Eastern Air Holding Co Ltd announced on Monday that its AI air traveling service is now available to international travelers through a collaboration with US-based online travel search platform Kayak, marking a major breakthrough in the Shanghai-based carrier's overseas digital marketing.

Officially launched in mid-August, the initiative marks China Eastern's first collaboration with a top overseas search platform. Kayak's AI chat capabilities offer overseas travelers flight search and trip planning services via interactive chats, streamlining the booking process.

Kayak operates across key markets, including Europe, North America, Australia and Southeast Asia. The new direct connection service will allow overseas users to accurately search for flight status and fares for China Eastern flights via AI-featured conversations, and then complete bookings on China Eastern's overseas website.

The new service is among a series of digitalization and innovation efforts by China Eastern to explore AI applications and continuously improve passengers' travel experience through greater intelligence and convenience.
