Visitors crowd an indoor pool at the Daying salt lake, also know as the Dead Sea of China, in Suining, Sichuan province, on Saturday, as temperatures topped 35 C in many parts of Sichuan and Chongqing. Built over underground saline brine reserves estimated at 4.2 billion metric tons, the resort features a natural thermal brine pool with a salt concentration of more than 22 percent.
