Two “21st Century Cup” contestants traveled to the old revolutionary base of Yimeng in Shandong province and joined local people in a reenactment of carrying supplies in the chaos of war. The path beneath their feet was once soaked with the blood of those who sacrificed so much for us.
Eighty-one years ago on August 15th Japan announced its unconditional surrender. Victory came at a tremendous cost, and it is our generation’s solemn duty to ensure that the sacrifices made by those in securing that victory are never forgotten.
