Lenovo reports strongest ever quarterly performance
Lenovo Group Ltd reported the strongest quarterly performance in the company's history on Thursday, with revenue reaching an all-time high of $26.9 billion in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026/27, up 43 percent year-on-year.
The Hong Kong-listed tech giant also posted adjusted net income of $1.1 billion, soaring 176 percent from a year earlier and surpassing the $1 billion milestone for the first time.
The results underscore the rapid monetization of Lenovo's Hybrid AI strategy. Revenue from AI-related businesses jumped 60 percent to $9.3 billion, accounting for 35 percent of total group revenue during the April-June period. All business groups delivered record first-quarter revenue and operating profit, with the Infrastructure Solutions Group emerging as a key engine of both growth and profitability.
Lenovo's operational resilience proved a competitive edge amid industry-wide supply constraints and cost pressures. The company leveraged its global-local supply chain and strong supplier relationships, while research and development expenses rose 30 percent year-on-year as the group continues to invest in innovation.
The quarter covered Lenovo's role as FIFA's Official Technology Partner for the 2026 World Cup. Over three countries, 16 cities and 104 matches, the company provided devices, infrastructure, services and AI-powered solutions to support global broadcasts, team analysis and officiating technology.
According to the company, the World Cup partnership accelerated commercial opportunities and elevated Lenovo's global brand as a leader in artificial intelligence.
Yuanqing Yang, Lenovo chairman and CEO, said "Following Lenovo's best year in history, we have now delivered our strongest quarter ever — with growth accelerating, profitability further improving and AI emerging as a clear growth engine across every business group.
"Powered by our Hybrid AI strategy, operational excellence and relentless innovation, Lenovo is not only navigating market cycles but also seizing initiatives to win."
The company said that it was confident it could sustain its long-term growth and deliver greater shareholder value, building on its leadership in PCs and smart devices while rapidly expanding its footprint in AI infrastructure and solutions worldwide.
