China renews anti-dumping duties on Indian optical fibers

China will continue to impose anti-dumping duties on imported single-mode optical fibers originating from India for another five years, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.

The anti-dumping duty rates, effective on Friday, will remain unchanged, ranging from 7.4 percent to 30.6 percent, the ministry said in a statement.

The decision was made after an expiry review found that dumping and harm to the domestic industry would likely continue or recur if the measures were lifted, according to the ministry.

Single-mode optical fibers are primarily used for high-speed and long-distance data transmission in long-haul communications, metropolitan area networks, cable television systems and fiber-to-the-home networks.

China originally imposed the duties in 2014 for a five-year period and extended them for another five years in 2020, according to the ministry's statement.
