Chinese-US business organizations meet in Washington, discuss cooperation, win-win outcomes

Chinese and US business representatives called for closer cooperation and higher-quality exchanges in Washington last week, highlighting the importance of dialogue in strengthening bilateral economic and trade ties, according to information released by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

At the invitation of the US-China Business Council, the CCPIT organized a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to visit the United States from July 27 to 31. During the visit, representatives from Chinese companies across various industries held exchanges with USCBC and its member companies in Salt Lake City, Chicago, and Washington DC, the CCPIT said in a statement.

Ren Hongbin, chairman of the CCPIT, said China welcomes US companies to share in the opportunities brought by "China Opportunity 2.0" and that the CCPIT will support efforts to promote greater practical cooperation between the business communities of the two countries in bilateral and multilateral fields, to achieve win-win outcomes.

US representatives said the US business community has consistently been a strong voice supporting exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

Sean Stein, president of the USCBC, said the claims that US companies are turning away from China, pulling out of the Chinese market, or opposing Chinese investment in the US are misconceptions.

US companies remain committed to developing in China, cooperating with Chinese businesses, and maintaining close ties with the CCPIT, he said, noting that such exchanges benefit businesses and stakeholders on both sides.
