Tesla China announces software partnership with Doubao

Tesla China announced on Friday the rollout of a software update for Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X vehicles, including the integration of ByteDance's Doubao large language model as an intelligent voice assistant.

This is Tesla's first integration of a third-party LLM into its China-market vehicles.

The Doubao-powered assistant is marketed as delivering real-time information and enabling natural, fluid conversations. It supports multiple premium voice tones and offers personalized roles including "Know-It-All," "Music Lover" and "Storyteller". The feature requires an active Premium Connectivity subscription.
