China, EU to hold second trade consultation mechanism meeting this autumn
BEIJING -- China and the European Union (EU) have agreed to hold the second meeting of the China-EU trade and investment consultation mechanism this autumn, a commerce official said on Thursday.
Over the past month, both sides have been actively implementing the outcomes of the first meeting and making full preparations for the second, He Yadong, spokesperson for China's Ministry of Commerce, said at a regular press briefing in response to intensive consultations between the two sides recently.
The work teams of both sides have held more than 20 consultations, and the four workstreams under the China-EU trade and investment consultation mechanism have conducted in-depth and professional exchanges on each other's economic and trade concerns, He said.
China is willing to continue to maintain high-frequency communication with the EU, respect each other and work with the EU in the same direction, so as to explore practical and feasible solutions to each other's concerns in the economic and trade field, promote balanced and positive development of bilateral trade, and maintain the stability and balance of the China-EU key trading partnership, He said.
