Digital and Intelligent Health Forum | Min Zeyar Hlaing calls for advancing innovative development of digital and intelligent health

Min Zeyar Hlaing, Myanmar's deputy minister of Digital Development and Communications, emphasized the transformative influence of digitalization on healthcare and reaffirmed Myanmar's commitment to working with global partners to build the Digital Silk Road and advance innovative digital and intelligent health development.

Hlaing delivered a key note address on July 22 at the Digital and Intelligent Health Forum, part of the 2026 World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum in Xi'an, Shaanxi province.

He highlighted the forum's role as a vital platform for policymakers, experts, and industry leaders to explore how digital technologies can transform healthcare and to strengthen regional cooperation.

Drawing a parallel with the historical Silk Road, he noted that the Digital Silk Road can drive improvements in health, economic growth, and resilience of the society through data, technology, and innovation.

He pointed out that technologies like artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, internet of things (IoT), and 5G are steering healthcare towards greater intelligence. These advances support early disease detection, enhance emergency response, and expand access to high-quality medical services, particularly in remote and underserved areas, he said.

Hlaing emphasized the ethical and secure application of AI in healthcare, advocating for inclusive and trustworthy digital innovation. He underscored the importance of international cooperation in knowledge sharing, technical standards alignment, and digital capacity building to unlock the full potential of digital and intelligent health.

He reaffirmed Myanmar's readiness to collaborate with various countries around the world to foster a more inclusive, sustainable digital health ecosystem.
