China reiterates Wang Yi did not meet Japanese side

Foreign Minister Wang Yi neither met nor had any brief exchange with the Japanese side during his stay in Manila, ministry spokesman Lin Jian said on Monday.

Lin made the remarks at a regular news briefing in response to reports that Japanese foreign minister had spoken briefly with Wang in Manila last week.

"I can once again tell you very clearly that Foreign Minister Wang Yi had no meeting scheduled with the Japanese side during his stay in Manila, nor was there any brief exchange at the venue," Lin said.
