Digital and Intelligent Health Forum | Cui Jian: Advancing public fitness with digital intelligence
Cui Jian, vice-minister of the General Administration of Sport of China, delivered a speech at a theme-based forum covering digital health during the 2026 World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum, which was held in Xi'an on July 22. Cui highlighted the role digital and intelligent technologies play in advancing public fitness and healthy living.
Cui noted that the General Administration of Sport of China has been implementing the national fitness strategy by establishing a sports and health service system that covers people of all ages throughout their lives.
Looking ahead, Cui outlined three priorities for the next five years. The first focuses on enhancing public fitness services through digital technologies to improve access to fitness guidance, venue reservations, and health monitoring.
The second aims to strengthen governance by integrating data on sports facilities, events, and participants through a unified smart platform.
The third revolves around driving industrial upgrading by applying artificial intelligence, big data, and the Internet of Things to deliver personalized fitness guidance and comprehensive exercise risk management.
