AI can serve as health assistant for people
At the 2026 World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, Liao Jieyuan, chairman of WeDoctor Group, said that AI health intelligent agents have already become effective everyday health assistants for the general public.
Thanks to advancements in artificial intelligence technology, tasks that once required specialized physicians — such as complex diagnoses — can now be accomplished through intelligent health agents. These agents are capable of generating personalized health profiles, applying AI technology to assess health risks, managing medical appointments, and providing diagnostic support, serving as a "gatekeeper" for people's health.
He expressed his delight at the official establishment of the Digital and Intelligent Health Working Group at this sub-forum. Liao said he is optimistic that the working group will promote synergy between the industry and the public health sector domestically, while enabling China's technologies, products, and expertise to expand globally, benefiting more individuals worldwide.
