AI helps narrow gaps in healthcare quality

In an interview on the sidelines of the 2026 World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum, Yu Panfeng, deputy director of the Spine Surgery Department at Peking University People's Hospital, praised the extensive application of AI in healthcare.

Yu said that AI applications in community hospitals have effectively eased the workload of primary care doctors, creating a win-win situation for the country, patients, companies, and hospitals.

Yu also expressed his expectations for the WIC Working Group on Digital and Intelligent Health, which was officially launched during the forum. He said the working group is expected to serve as a bridge and platform. In the future, it is expected to play a coordinating role in leveraging AI to narrow gaps in healthcare quality.
