Jingjiang private shipbuilder delivers world-class vessels

The "Vibrant China" media tour visited Jingjiang on July 22, a county-level city of Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province that is home to China's largest private shipbuilding base, to explore the city's thriving shipbuilding industry.

On the same day, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding launched a 9,000-TEU methanol dual-fuel container vessel built for Danish shipping giant Maersk. Measuring 274 meters in length with a deadweight of nearly 120,000 metric tons, the vessel is another testament to China's growing strength in green and high-end shipbuilding.

According to deputy general manager Zhou Kewei, the company's production lines are now operating at full capacity. Driven by the global shipping industry's transition toward greener operations, demand for clean-energy vessels has soared, with the company's order book already extending through 2030.

The strong demand reflects the confidence of global shipowners in China's shipbuilding capabilities and underscores the industry's growing competitiveness on the world stage.
