UK consul general urges British youth to learn Chinese, build bilateral ties
She encouraged the young British participants to cherish the immersive learning opportunity — through language classes, cultural visits and culinary experiences — and foster mutual understanding between the youth of both countries and serve as young ambassadors of people-to-people friendship between China and the UK.
Mark Bailie, CEO of Fenn Park School Trust, spoke on behalf of the UK teachers, encouraging the British students to engage wholeheartedly in both classroom and outdoor activities, boldly communicate with their Chinese peers and teachers, gain personal growth through cross-cultural encounters, and turn Chinese learning into a lasting passion.
