Every day, the observation deck outside Liziba Station on Chongqing Rail Transit Line 2 becomes a stage for an unusual spectacle. Throngs of visitors line up, mouths wide open, for a photo framing that makes it look as though the monorails are gliding into their mouths.
It's a newly revitalized sensation on social media. Creative videos are many: Tourists record themselves "savoring" the train, "devouring" it with the dramatic flair of a traditional Chinese fan, or even "packing" it into boxes. Whimsical poses have ballooned into a social media frenzy, transforming the monorail into a symbol of Chongqing's quirky spirit.
