Meeting emphasizes employment-first strategy
Premier Li Qiang presided over an executive meeting of the State Council, China's Cabinet, on Friday to hear reports about the nation's efforts to promote employment and discuss advancing new industrialization and the development of future industries.
Highlighting employment as the foundation of people's livelihoods, the meeting reviewed and approved the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) for implementing the employment-first strategy.
The meeting pointed out the need to grasp the trends in the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, and called for coordinated promotion of the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and the growth of emerging industries.
The meeting also reviewed and approved the draft regulation on promoting employment and entrepreneurship for veterans.
