Innovations boost railway equipment
Chinese railway operators are relying more on science and technology to boost railway safety and increase service efficiency. Since the start of the year, the safety protection system for station shunting operations — developed by Shanxi Railway Equipment Manufacturing Group Co Ltd and Beijing Jiaotong University — has been put into use, winning orders worth 8.46 million yuan ($1.24 million) from seven stations and sections under China Railway Taiyuan Group. By building an integrated architecture, the system achieved many breakthroughs. The group vows to deepen industry-academic links to help empower railway safety and improve quality.
