Wang to chair UN meeting in New York and visit Canada

Foreign Minister Wang Yi will travel to New York to chair a United Nations Security Council high-level meeting on Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry has announced.
As the rotating president of the UN Security Council for May, China will hold the meeting, whose theme is "Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-centered International System."
Wang will also attend the meeting of the Group of Friends of Global Governance in New York on Thursday, and will have meetings with the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the foreign ministers from other countries, a spokesperson of the ministry said on Friday.
Wang will also pay a three-day visit to Canada starting Thursday, the spokesperson added.
