World Mayors Dialogue opens in Xi'an with Belt and Road focus

The 2026 World Mayors Dialogue opened on Monday in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, aiming to drive deeper collaboration for cities along the Belt and Road Initiative in technology, culture, and industry, and inject new vitality into global high-quality urban development.
The three-day event is hosted by the State Council Information Office and brings together mayors and representatives from seven cities across seven countries. It features roundtables, situational dialogues, immersive cultural experiences, and field visits to smart city operation centers, intelligent manufacturing sites, and world cultural heritage sites.
