Belgian Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot to visit China
Belgium's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxime Prevot, will pay an official visit to China from Monday to Friday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian announced on Monday, highlighting China's expectation to exchange views and expand consensus between the two nations.
Noting that Belgium is China's all-round friendly cooperative partner, Lin said that in recent years, both sides have maintained frequent high-level exchanges and made steady progress in cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, shipping, logistics and biomedicine, delivering tangible benefits to the two peoples.
Highlighting the significance of the visit, Lin said this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belgium, and it also marks Prevot's first official visit to China since taking office.
China looks forward to using this opportunity to engage in in-depth exchange of views with the Belgian side on bilateral relations, as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest to expand consensus, in order to promote the sustained, sound and stable growth of China-Belgium relations and to make new contributions to the development of China-Europe relations, the spokesman added.
