Fujian coast guard conducts routine patrols in the waters near Jinmen
The Fujian coast guard conducted a routine law enforcement patrol in the waters near Jinmen, an island administered by Taiwan, on Friday.
Zhu Anqing, a spokesman for the coast guard's East China Sea bureau, said in a statement that since the beginning of April, the Fujian coast guard has organized vessel task forces to continuously step up law enforcement patrols in the waters near Jinmen.
These operations are aimed at further enhancing control over the relevant maritime areas, Zhu said.
He emphasized that the actions are intended to effectively protect the legitimate rights, interests, and safety of Chinese fishermen, including those from the Taiwan region.
Furthermore, the patrols serve to provide a solid guarantee for the normal navigation and operation orders in the waters between Xiamen and Jinmen, he added.
