Shared Journey: Across mountains, across cultures: Ropeways linking China and Europe

As 2025 marked the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the EU, China Daily has visited multinational companies operating across both regions to trace their shared journey.

In this episode, we look at Austria-based Doppelmayr, a century-old pioneer in ropeway technology, and its 30-year journey in China. From its first project at Taishan Mountain in East China's Shandong province in the early 1990s to delivering all ropeways for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, Doppelmayr has grown alongside China's rapid development and continues to be embraced by the country's vast landscapes and vibrant growth.
