Top legislator to attend Boao Forum for Asia plenary
Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, will attend the plenary session of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2026 on Thursday in Boao, Hainan province, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said on Monday.
Zhao, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, will deliver a keynote speech at the forum.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Boao Forum for Asia. Themed "Shaping the Future Together: New Trends, New Opportunities and New Cooperation", the forum will run from Tuesday through Friday.
Enhancing exchanges with Mongolia emphasized
China's top legislator Zhao Leji met on Monday in Beijing with a delegation from Mongolia, led by Nyam-Osor Uchral, chairman of the Mongolian People's Party and chairman of Mongolia's State Great Hural.
Zhao said that China is willing to work with Mongolia to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, enhance strategic mutual trust, strengthen exchanges between legislative bodies, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, promote friendship between the two peoples, and enhance multilateral coordination. He also introduced the practices of China's whole-process people's democracy.
Uchral said that developing long-term, stable, mutually beneficial and cooperative friendly relations with China is a consistent feature of Mongolia's foreign policy.
