As UK-China economic ties gain momentum, Liverpool is drawing on its longstanding, well-established Chinese community to deepen cooperation. Nick Small, cabinet member for growth and economy at Liverpool City Council, said China's visa-free policy for the British people is expected to spur exchanges, and he is excited about Chery Commercial Vehicle's upcoming European headquarters in Liverpool to bring fresh investment and jobs.
He was talking to China Daily during the 8th China-UK Economic and Trade Forum held in London on Wednesday, which brought together around 350 representatives from government, business, finance, and academia to explore new opportunities for bilateral economic cooperation.
