China congratulates Anutin Charnvirakul on re-elected Thai PM

China on Thursday congratulated Anutin Charnvirakul following his reelection as prime minister of Thailand, expressing confidence that under his leadership the country will make greater achievements in national development.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian made the remarks at a regular news briefing in Beijing when asked to comment on Anutin's reelection and China's expectations for the future of China-Thailand relations.

"China congratulates Mr Anutin on assuming office again as Thailand's prime minister," Lin said. "We believe that under Prime Minister Anutin's leadership, Thailand will make new and greater achievements in its national development."
