Answers demanded on ROK drone incident

People's Republic of Korea has urged the Republic of Korea to provide a "detailed explanation" over a drone that entered DPRK airspace, the Korean Central News Agency reported on Sunday. Kim Yo-jong, vice-department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, made the demand in a statement issued a day earlier. She appreciated the ROK Defense Ministry's public declaration that it would never provoke or irritate the DPRK, calling the move "a wise choice", the report said. "A detailed explanation should be made about the actual case of a drone that crossed the southern border of our Republic from the ROK,"Kim said. The KCNA said the incident occurred on Jan 4. In response, ROK President Lee Jae-myung ordered a thorough investigation, instructing military and police task forces to verify the details.

6 gunned down in Mississippi rampage

A 24-year-old Mississippi man killed six people — his father, brother, uncle, 7-year-old cousin, a church pastor and the pastor's brother — at three locations during a Friday night rampage in a rural area, authorities said. Daricka M. Moore was arrested at a police roadblock in Cedarbluff just before midnight after dozens of local, state and federal officers flooded the northeast Mississippi area. Moore was being held without bail on Saturday on murder charges, ahead of an expected initial appearance on Monday before a judge. Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott said at a Saturday news conference that evidence and witnesses indicate that Moore was the only shooter and no other injuries have been reported. The shootings unfolded in an area of fields, woods and mostly modest homes about 200 kilometers northeast of Jackson.
