9 killed, 10 injured in mass shooting
At least nine people were killed and 10 others wounded in a shooting in Bekkersdal township near Johannesburg, South Africa's largest city, local police said on Sunday. The incident occurred shortly before 1 am local time, according to a statement from the South African Police Service. Police initially said 10 people were killed, but later revised the toll downward. The motive for the shooting remains unclear, the police said.

Yoon questioned over corruption charges
South Korea's former impeached president Yoon Suk-yeol on Saturday appeared before a special counsel team to undergo questioning as a suspect over corruption charges involving his wife Kim Keon-hee. It marked the first questioning of Yoon over the corruption charges since the independent counsel team's investigation that was launched on July 2 and scheduled to end on Dec 28. The ruling on Yoon's wife is set to be delivered on Jan 28.

Tourists to pay fee to visit Rome's fountain
Tourists will have to pay a 2-euro ($2.34) entrance fee from February to get close to Rome's Trevi Fountain, officials said on Friday, in a bid to tackle overtourism. The Baroque masterpiece can be viewed from a distance for free, but closer access will be exclusively for ticket holders. Mayor Roberto Gualtieri said some 9 million tourists have visited the area this year.
