On Thursday morning, West Air marked a milestone with the arrival of its 50th aircraft, an Airbus A320neo (B-32PV), at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. This addition elevates the low-cost airline into the ranks of mid-sized carriers and makes it the second such airline headquartered in Chongqing. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

The company said it plans to deepen its backbone network to support regional development and bolster Chongqing's role as an aviation hub. Internationally, it aims to enhance connections with RCEP member countries by prioritizing the establishment of routes to underserved destinations. Plans are also in place to increase the frequency of existing routes.
