AVATR 012 arrives in Antarctica for polar testing mission

At 6 am (Beijing time) on Dec 7, an AVATR 012 luxury sedan, manufactured in Chongqing, was gently lowered onto the Antarctic ice sheet from the polar research vessel *Xuelong*, marking the beginning of its polar testing mission at the Antarctic Central Station. It is the world's first NEV to set foot on the frozen continent. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

"Selecting AVATR for Antarctic testing underscores the commitment of State-owned enterprises to advancing China's NEV sector," said Zhang Zhiguo, chairman of CATARC (Tianjin) Automotive Engineering Research Institute. "It also symbolizes the industry's resolve to innovate and explore new frontiers."
