"China knew how to play the role of a convenor and facilitator of a global event,” said Nahla Haidar, chair of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, who attended the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women in Beijing on October 13.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the 1995 Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing. In her opinion, “Beijing +” has become a "trademark" for advancing women's rights, crediting China for its ongoing leadership over 3 decades.
