Newcastle splashes out on Brentford's Wissa

Newcastle signed DR Congo forward Yoane Wissa from Brentford in a 50 million-pound ($67 million) deal after Alexander Isak left St James' Park in a British record move to Liverpool on Monday.
Wissa agreed a long-term contract with the Magpies, subject to Premier League approval, and will wear Newcastle's famous No 9 shirt.
The 28-year-old's eventual fee could rise to 55 million pounds depending on add-on clauses.
Wissa is Newcastle's second big-money signing in the space of three days, following its club record 69-million-pound swoop for Stuttgart's German striker Nick Woltemade on Saturday.
The pair will be expected to fill the void left by Sweden striker Isak, whose goals helped Newcastle qualify for the Champions League last season and ended the club's 56-year trophy drought with a League Cup final win over Liverpool.
Isak finally completed his 125-million-pound switch to the Premier League champion just prior to Wissa's arrival being confirmed by Newcastle.
"I'm really happy to be here and to sign for one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League," Wissa said.
"I'm very, very excited to put on the black and white shirt. I've got dreams, I've got faith and now I will do my best to make it all happen. I can't wait to get started."
Having risen to prominence with Lorient in French Ligue 1, the former goalkeeper joined Brentford in 2021 and scored 19 Premier League goals last season, just four fewer than Isak.
"He brings proven Premier League quality, demonstrated not only by his goalscoring output, but also the crucial work he does for the team," Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said.
Lammens to Old Trafford
Manchester United on Monday completed the deadline-day signing of Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens, also moving on big-money flops Rasmus Hojlund, Antony and Jadon Sancho.
Ruben Amorim's side has undergone a dramatic summer rebuild on the back of the Red Devils' worst top-flight season in 51 years and the damaging Europa League final defeat to Tottenham.
United has revamped its forward line, signing Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko for combined fees totaling around 200 million pounds.
Amorim was also keen to boost his goalkeeping options after poor starts to the season for Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir.
A variety of options were reportedly considered, including Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez, before a deal was done for Lammens for 21 million euros ($24.6 million) plus add-ons.
"I am extremely proud to be joining Manchester United — it is a real dream come true," the 23-year-old said after signing a deal that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2030.
"The past few years have been an amazing journey, it's now ended in an incredible destination, and, hopefully, is the beginning of something special."
Director of soccer Jason Wilcox said: "Senne is an excellent young goalkeeper with great potential. We are delighted that he has chosen to join Manchester United after significant interest from a number of clubs."
Hojlund has joined Napoli on loan, while Sancho has signed for Villa until the end of the season.
Real Betis announced the signing of Brazil international winger Antony on a five-year deal.
