Jilin city launches massive pet expo

An extravaganza for pet lovers and their furry companions kicked off on Friday with the 2025 Jilin City Park-Themed Pet Expo at Jiangnan Park in Jilin city, Jilin province.

The expo is spread across a sprawling 50,000-square-meter exhibition area and covers the entire industry chain, with 20 themed zones covering topics like pet food, supplies, healthcare, and training. Over 200 domestic and international enterprises are participating in the event, according to the organizers.

Attendees can enjoy internationally certified competitions by the World Pet Association (WPA), the Northeast China Pet Games, pet matchmaking corners, and pet fashion shows.

There are also lectures and practical demonstrations on topics like immunization and nutrition. Experts from the Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine and the WPA are hosting public classes on pet behavior training and exotic pet art exhibitions.

A team from Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology University is providing free diagnostic services at the clinic area, alongside pet welfare education.

The expo is organized under the guidance of the small animal medicine branch of the Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine and the WPA, and co-hosted by Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology University and the city's pet service industry association.

The event is scheduled to run until Aug 22.
