Guangdong Super League set for big kick-off

A soccer league in Guangdong province that features 22 teams from across 13 cities is kicking-off on Saturday.
Among the teams competing in the Guangdong Super League, 17 will be participating for the first time, in what is the 10th edition of the competition.
Competition rules will be in line with the China Champions League, a fourth-level soccer tournament, with winners promoted to the professional level.
According to the Guangdong Football Association, players registered as professional are barred from playing in the league. Players from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are welcome to participate.
On game days, various cultural and tourism activities will be held in host cities, with the aim of raising more than 100 million yuan ($13.94 million) in revenue, according to the organizers.
