Progress made in lifting connections

Construction of the Xuzhou-Mingguang Expressway is making progress, as China Railway Construction Corp's 24th bureau recently announced that it has completed installing box girders on a key overpass along the expressway. The builder said the overpass, located in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, and being built above the Lanzhou-Lianyungang Railway, aims to function as a key conduit boosting regional connectivity and facilitating road links between Jiangsu and Anhui provinces.

Work safety targeted to guard transport

To battle the high temperatures sweeping North China recently, Chinese railway operators have taken timely measures to ensure the safety of employees while also bolstering safe rail transport. China Railway Taiyuan Group customized an anti-heatstroke package to help employees stay cool and enjoy the best conditions while at work. Its Houma Signaling Depot organized special service teams to distribute preventive items such as cooling oil to outdoor workers and purchased ice creams and cold beverages for employees stationed at the front line. The depot's safety and production control center monitors weather changes round-the-clock, sending prompt high-temperature warnings and activating heat-response plans when needed.
