Top political advisers discuss macroeconomic performance in H1
The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the nation's top political advisory body, held a symposium on Friday on the country's macroeconomic performance in the first half.
Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the symposium and made remarks on the topic.
Since the beginning of the year, amid a complex international environment and rising uncertainties, the country has maintained stable economic growth, Wang said.
He stressed the need to focus on areas such as goals and tasks for the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), fostering new quality productive forces in light of local conditions and expanding domestic demand.
At the symposium, around 13 political advisers spoke on a range of topics, including advancing the development of artificial intelligence.
Vice-president meets delegation attending SMI China Forum
Vice-President Han Zheng met with a delegation attending the Sustainable Markets Initiative China Forum in Beijing on Thursday.
Han said the SMI actively encourages the international business community to participate in global green and low-carbon transition.
He said China has always upheld the concept of a community with a shared future for humanity, and firmly implemented the national strategy on climate change.
The delegation said that the business community will continue to deepen practical cooperation and make positive contributions to promoting global sustainable development.
