Shanghai Ballet's Lily to premiere on July 18

The choreography borrowed elements from Chinese dance to present a different beauty from traditional ballet, said Qi Bingxue, who plays one of the leading roles.

"We worked for three years on this original production," said Ji Pingping, director of Shanghai Ballet. "We wish to present through the distinctive style of Shanghai Ballet, the resilience of Chinese people through the brutal battle.
