Drone-charging cabinet deployed
Chinese power workers are making innovations to bolster smart power line inspections. At a drone storage base of State Grid Xuzhou Power Supply Co in Jiangsu province, an intelligent drone-charging cabinet has been put into use, improving the inspection efficiency on power transmission lines. As a "jack-of-all-trades", it is compatible with batteries from multiple mainstream drones and their corresponding remote controllers. Employee He Qi from the transmission and substation operation and inspection center said a single cabinet can charge and discharge up to 15 batteries simultaneously, raising charging efficiency by about 90 percent while helping ensure the safe and stable operation of the local power grid.
