On Tuesday night, a dazzling drone show illuminated the skies of Southwest China's Chongqing, setting the Guinness World Record for the largest aerial image created by drones.

The awe-inspiring show, created by Chongqing Broadcasting Media Group and Shenzhen DAMODA Intelligent Control Technology, featured 11,787 drones performing in synchronized formations, according to the organizers.

The performance captured the essence of the municipality, highlighting its mountains, rivers, culture, and urban life. The drones created images showcasing iconic Chongqing elements, including the city's mountain and river landscapes, the camellia (Chongqing's city flower), the white fig (Chongqing's city tree), skyscrapers, and motifs from the popular online game Dungeon & Fighter.

The organizers said this Guinness World Record challenge represents a fusion of technology and creativity and serves as a concentrated display of the city's urban image.

The showcase was intended as a tribute to the 28th anniversary of Chongqing's establishment as China's fourth municipality.

The show aims to present Chongqing's progress to the world and promote the seamless integration of the low-altitude economy and cultural tourism industry in Chongqing.
