State Grid Jiaxing powers low-altitude aviation

Recently, workers from the State Grid Jiaxing Power Supply Company visited the flight camp in Huahu (Zhejiang) Aviation Technology Co Ltd to assess the operation of the company's high-voltage lines, dedicated cables, and distribution facilities, providing support in managing power loads efficiently.
With the launch of several new air routes, including the "Shanghai Pudong-Jiaxing Nanhu Lake-Suzhou Jinji Lake" flight path, low-altitude aviation applications in the Yangtze River Delta region are expanding beyond tourist sightseeing to include passenger transport, business commuting, and more. The Jiaxing Pinghu area has been attracting high-quality projects in both the aerospace and low-altitude economy sectors, with the goal of establishing Zhejiang's first low-altitude economic application zone, a demonstration zone for low-altitude integration near Shanghai, and a manufacturing cluster for low-altitude industry in the Yangtze River Delta region. By 2027, the overall scale of the low-altitude economy industry is expected to surpass 10 billion yuan ($1.4 billion).
Huahu Aviation Technology Co Ltd specializes in the design, manufacture, sales, and after-sales service of aircraft. The company's aviation flight camp began operations in 2024. During the early stages of construction, the power supply company proactively assigned technical experts to understand the company's power needs, setting up a green channel for power expansion and designing a solution that included the installation of two 3,600 kilovolt-ampere transformers. In response to the company's future development, the power company also recommended the installation of two 4,000 kVA transformers. Additionally, the company created a dedicated service channel via the "State Grid" app, providing convenience for routine payments and repair services.
"We conducted test flights ahead of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, and our equipment is running at high intensity every day, requiring stable voltage," said Wu Kai, the head of Huahu (Zhejiang) Aviation Technology Co Ltd. "The power supply company not only upgraded our distribution transformers in advance but also assigned a dedicated customer manager to be on-site, which gives us confidence in our production and R&D."
The State Grid Jiaxing Power Supply Company has designated electricity supply for the low-altitude economy as a key focus area. By combining drone inspections with manual checks, the company has completed inspections of 178 overhead 10 kilovolt power lines, covering a total distance of 1,238 kilometers.
The company has also strengthened collaboration with government agencies, joining the city's Low-Altitude Economy Leadership Group to better understand the electricity consumption patterns of industrial enterprises and offer "one-stop" services for power access.
Additionally, by leveraging big data from its distribution network operation and maintenance platform, the company has enhanced the application of geographic visualization systems, promoted smart inspections, and supported the upgrading of industries. These efforts are integral to optimizing the regional power grid and driving the development of the low-altitude economy in the Yangtze River Delta region.
