The event also emphasized the release of Guide for Value Assessment and Renovation Design of Modern and Contemporary Building, co-published by the committee and the Architectural Society of China. This guide is praised for addressing the long-standing gap in design standards related to architectural heritage and urban renewal. Additionally, it reflects the commitment of the architecture and heritage conservation community to uphold China's newly revised cultural relics protection law.

In addition, a group of architects, scholars and professors launched Building a Culturally Powerful Nation: Beijing Initiative on 20th-Century Architectural Heritage. They vowed to safeguard 20th-century architectural heritage with a slew of measures, including enhancing education on the subject in colleges and universities and promoting relevant legislation for its systematic protection.

Two exhibitions opened on Sunday at the North China University of Technology in Beijing. One exhibition showcases fine photography of China's 20th-century architectural heritage, while the other highlights architectural heritage found in universities in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. Both exhibitions will run until June 25.
