Legoland Shanghai Resort completes project handover, moves into testing mode

Legoland Shanghai Resort officially announced the project handover ready for operation on Monday, entering its final preopening phase before the grand opening scheduled for July 5.
The handover ceremony featured a symbolic moment where the project team presented a giant Lego brick-built key to the operations team, who then passed it to the park's kid reporters, marking the transition from construction to trial operations.
The nearly 1,300-day construction project, which began in 2021, involved approximately 300 teams from 15 countries and over 10,000 construction workers. Spanning 318,000 square meters in Shanghai's Jinshan district, the resort represents an achievement in international collaboration.

The resort features eight immersive themed lands with over 75 interactive rides, shows and attractions, incorporating more than 85 million Lego bricks. Key attractions include the Big Lego Coaster featuring towering Lego minifigure sculptures, and the 60-meter Legoland Observation Tower offering panoramic views.
"We are filled with enthusiasm and excitement to jointly witness this milestone moment of Legoland Shanghai Resort," said Chen Jie, general manager of the resort. "We look forward to every guest stepping into the resort in the future, being surrounded by surprise and creativity, and embarking on a marvelous journey filled with happiness and inspiration."
