The racing zone spans from Anyuan Road Bridge to the North-South Elevated Road, passing through Butterfly Bay Park—a key waterfront landmark in Suzhou Creek.

"Paddleboarding has evolved into a global phenomenon, with iconic events such as those on Paris' Seine River attracting thousands of participants," said Ma Jiabin, director of Jing'an District Sports Bureau. "By showcasing its scenic beauty and cultural heritage through this dynamic sport, we aim to elevate Suzhou Creek's international profile while fostering deeper integration between sports and urban development."

Ma added that the annual event has doubled its watercraft capacity from 100 to 200 athletes simultaneously on the course. "Next year, we plan to extend the course from three to six kilometers, giving participants the opportunity to enjoy all 12 bridges and the scenic Suzhou Creek landscape."
