Suhewan Shanghai Paddling Open to showcase urban waterfront vitality

The 2025 Suhewan Shanghai Paddling Open will kick off on May 24 to 25 along the Jing'an section of the Suzhou Creek, attracting over 400 paddleboarding enthusiasts from the Yangtze River Delta region.
Organized by the Jing'an District Sports Bureau and Shanghai Suhewan (Group) Co, Ltd, the event aims to highlight the integration of sports, culture, and urban development under Shanghai's "One River, One Creek" strategic plan, which seeks to advance the planning and construction, landscape upgrading, and functional enhancement along the banks of the Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025).
The two-day competition features three core categories: straight course sprint, slalom skills race, and long-distance cruise race, catering to participants aged 12 to 60. With 168 adult athletes, 93 youth competitors, and 122 corporate team members, the total participant entries exceed 800, reflecting a significant increase from the inaugural edition in 2023.
