As the footsteps of summer approach, Xiamen, Fujian province, has once again welcomed migratory birds that have chosen to rest in the city's parks, green spaces, and coastal areas. [Photo by Chen Bo/For chinadaily.com.cn]

In Dongpingshan Park of Siming district, the clear waters and lush banks of Dongshan Reservoir have become an important resting stop for migratory birds. They perch on branches, singing loudly, or dart through the woods foraging and playing. At Wuyuan Bay Wetland Park, the chestnut-throated bee-eater, hailed as "China's most beautiful bird," has arrived early, soaring gracefully against the backdrop of blue seas and skies.
