Chongqing's drone light shows drive tourist numbers

Harnessing technology to showcase the richness of culture through regular drone light shows in Chongqing have boosted local tourism, attracting audiences from China and abroad.
The show, titled "Charming Chongqing", has been a regular 20-minute feature every Saturday and on major holidays since April 19, in the main areas along the banks of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers.
"Chongqing has taken the lead nationwide to achieve regular display of the shows," said Guan Hong, a city official of Chongqing and deputy chief commander of the light show command center, on Sunday. "Since its debut, more than 3.6 million people have attended the live drone light shows, while online viewership has exceeded 1 billion."
The regular drone light shows have stimulated tourism consumption, Guan added.
