Thousands explore mechanics at CAS public science event

More than 7,000 visitors participated in the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Mechanics 21st Public Science Day on Saturday, exploring the interdisciplinary applications of mechanics under the theme "Force in Everything." The annual event also marked National Science and Technology Workers Day.

Academician He Guowei, president of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, opened the event by emphasizing the foundational role of mechanics in China's scientific and technological progress.
