Guerlain's chief perfumer Thierry Wasser stated that "among my numerous creations, the Guerlain Idylle Eau de Toilette holds special significance for me. When I joined Guerlain as a perfumer, I was filled with passion for creating fragrances, and this piece is a testament to my initial aspirations. It is not only a culmination of olfactory art but also a tribute to the brand's spirit.

Guerlain is one of the few brands in the perfume industry that controls the entire process from the cultivation and extraction of raw materials to perfume formulation, production, and packaging."

Wasser who joined Guerlain in 2008 said that this exhibition aims to fully showcase this artistic integrity: through historical archives and realistic reconstructions of the perfumery workshop, allowing Chinese consumers to experience the true essence of the "fragrance art family".

"Sustainability is a core issue. The perfume industry is closely linked to agriculture —climate change directly affects flower yields, and organic farming is crucial for ecological balance. We collaborate with partners worldwide, signing agreements with NGOs, which allows us to measure our impact on the biological environment and make informed choices. Technological innovation is equally critical," he said.

Wasser created a perfume named Guerlain Xi'an in 2012, which is also Guerlain's first perfume named after a city. He said The inspiration for this perfume came from his first trip to Xi'an in 2012.

" At that time, we participated in a Sino-French cultural forum, allowing us to deeply explore this ancient city. Standing within the well-preserved city walls, I was deeply moved by the city's majestic historical power — once a thousand-year-old imperial capital, with the awe-inspiring Terracotta Warriors guarding the imperial tombs. The warm hospitality of the locals inspired us to create a fragrance that would capture the soul of this city. Xi'an left an impression of both strength and gentleness on me — like looking down from the towering city walls, where one can sense the profound wooden heritage, see the swaying bamboo along the moat, and smell the fragrance of jasmine and tuberose. These elements were ultimately incorporated into the perfume's formula. This creation is not only a tribute to the beauty of Xi'an but also our olfactory interpretation of the city's unique character.

The exhibition will run until May 18, and during this period, visitors can book their visit through Guerlain's official WeChat mini-program.
